Godokio is a task app that works over phone numbers. It needs very little about you, and this page is the whole of it — there is no analytics package, no advertising network, and nothing is sold. The one diagnostic we collect is a crash report when the app breaks.
What we store
- Your phone number. It is your account. There is no email and no password.
- The name you choose when you first sign in, so the people you share tasks with see something friendlier than a number.
- Your tasks — their text, dates, and whether they are done.
- Messages and photos you send inside a task. Photos live in private storage and are served through short-lived links that only the two people on the task can obtain.
- A notification token for each device you install the app on, plus which notification categories that device wants.
Your contacts stay on your phone
When you assign a task, the app opens your operating system's own contact picker. We never read, upload, or index your address book — the app only ever receives the single contact you tap, and only their name and number, which become part of that one task.
What we don't do
- No advertising, and no ad identifiers.
- No analytics or behavioural tracking.
- No selling or sharing of your data with data brokers.
- No reading of your messages for anything other than delivering them.
Who else touches your data
Only the services required to make the app work:
- Supabase hosts the database, file storage and server functions. Your data is stored in the Mumbai region.
- Meta (WhatsApp) delivers your login code. They receive your phone number and the code, nothing else.
- Expo, Apple and Google carry push notifications to your device. A notification contains the task title and the sender's name, because that is what it has to show you.
- Sentry receives a report when the app crashes or hits an unexpected error — what went wrong, the app version and the device model, stored in the United States. Reports are not linked to your account, and failures caused by your own connection being offline are never sent.
We may also disclose data where the law genuinely requires it.
Sharing is two-sided
A shared task belongs to both people. When you assign a task to someone, they can see its title, your name, and everything either of you writes or attaches inside it. If you assign a task to a number that has not joined yet, that task waits for them and appears when they sign up with it.
How long it is kept
Completed tasks and their messages are deleted automatically thirty days after they are ticked off. Everything else stays until you delete it or delete your account.
Deleting your account
In the app. Open the menu and choose Delete account. This immediately and permanently removes your profile, your tasks, your messages, your photos and your notification tokens. Because a shared task belongs to both people, deleting your account also removes those shared tasks from the other person. It cannot be undone, and we keep no backup copy for you.
Without the app. If you have uninstalled it or lost the phone, email hello@godokio.com from anywhere, giving the phone number on the account. We confirm the request on WhatsApp to that number before deleting anything — so knowing someone's number is not enough to close their account — and we finish within 30 days, usually the same day.
Both routes delete exactly the same things, and neither leaves a copy behind.
Children
Godokio is rated 13+ and is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data; if we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we delete it and everything in it. If you believe a child is using Godokio, write to hello@godokio.com and we will look into it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and say so in the app.
